OUD IMPERIAL
Few perfume oils have the mystique of Oud. Made from the fragrant resin found in Aquilaria trees, Oud is also referred to as Agarwood, Aloeswood and Eaglewood. This is the Aloe spoken of in the Bible. It has... been loved and treasured for thousands of years, by mystics and romantics alike. Oud is proclaimed as an aid to spiritual meditation. Lovers use it as an aphrodisiac. The people of Arabia have embraced fragrant Oud oils for centuries. Trade routes to obtain fragrant goods were established throughout Arabia and the Middle East long before 1500 BC. It was not until the 10th century AD that the first true perfume extract was created, using the distillation method of Ibn Sina (Avicina).
Oud is one of the most precious, natural woody essential oils available today. Its composition evokes different facets: woody, animalic, sensuality and sophistication. It has the power to give richness to compositions and for this reason it is blended with other notes in order to create a more robust, versatile perfume. In this blend Oud is mixed with other precious woody notes like Cedre Atlas, Vetiver from Java and Sandalwood to emphasize the natural woody and leathery characteristic of this beautiful formula
