Recent excavations uncovered the perfectly preserved extract of a perfume produced in Pompeii almost a century BC. ānti resurrects this Damascus rose and olive oil accord and sheathes it in an ashy sillage that evokes the distant volcano still burning in the sunset sky.

Blackcurrant bursts like dark wine spilled on marble floors, while cashmeran weaves silk veils through the ruins of villas. Olive oil and birch essence whisper of sacred groves and charred cedar—sparks of life preserved in stone and flame.

Reengineered from its 1882 regal compound to compliment modern rigors and landscapes, Fougère Royale retains its discriminating, elegant, noble, refined pulse and its pleasant, pastoral beauty. The perfectly-blended perfume is redolent of green, fragrant sedge, hardy foliage, and delicately-curled fronds of shaded, dense, moist woodlands. Sweet vernal grasses suggest the freshly-released essences of trampled, crushed, trodden, dewy verdure, with an intense hint of newly-mown hay.

Fougère Royale’s nuanced scent composition opens with a vibrant, sparkling cocktail Bergamot, lavander and Mediterranean Herbs. A redolent heart follows, where the floral-spicy “Rondeletia” accord is revealed through rich geranium nuances and warm spices. A floral intermezzo showcases rare rose essences and absolutes, spiked by pepper, cinnamon and carnation. Finally, a grand finale of earthy, ambery and woody harmonies, where moss notes join a sensual patchouli theme enriched by warm coumarinic undertones of tonka beans and clary sage absolute
