Dark, deep and powerful, Gao is a scent based on a masterful blend of saffron and oud 🪵
Opening with a rare blend of Spanish and Iranian saffron, the nose is led to an earthy accord of nagarmotha, juniper berries and resinous gurjun balsam that calms and centres the mind.
Oriental in spirit, a traditional base of patchouli, amber and white oud sourced from Laos feels suitably authentic.
Gao perfume, a prestigious collection is created from pure oud distillation and is dedicated entirely to traditional Arab perfume making.

“Our journey to the origin of Mediterranean perfumes takes us back to where everything began. To Magna Graecia and its art, philosophy, techniques…. And perfumes. Diamante, a small town with a great past. The Citrus Medica or Diamante Citron grows only here, the result of a mutation. One of the many miracles that have occurred in this stretch of the Calabrian coast caressed by Tyrrhenian breezes.” 🍹
It is the Perfect Tree, whose fruit - rich in flavour as well as perfume - symbolises the excellence of the chosen people in Jewish tradition. Rabbis come to this short stretch of the Calabrian coast to choose the finest citrons, an essential part of celebrations for Sukkot, the main Jewish holiday.
So the Diamante Citron was a must for our celebration of Mediterranean Italy, a crossroads for many different traditions. We handled it with care, as befitting a fruit that is much more than a simple ingredient. At its core lie memories, faces, merchant ships, interwoven languages. A myriad of stories which the sweet notes of the Citron retell with a modern touch: the spicy heart and soft, musky base.

Creating a perfume has always been a dream of mine. Since I started my fragrance journey online, I’ve had the opportunity to discover many scents from all over the world - along the way, I was able to distinguish what the perfect fragrance would smell like to me.
It is an honour to present to you Minuit et Demi, my ideal version of a gourmand scent - sweet, warm, addictive and sexy.
