Launched in 2010, Gilded Lily is a “chypre” fragrance, a category of fragrances that I learned to love in the 1990s when I was a young woman in Paris working for a fragrance supply house. It’s a mossy/earthy/woody structure that has a classic elegance. Gilded Lily also features the scent of the Goldband Lily of Japan (lilium auratum), discovered by Victorian plant hunters over a century ago, and a favorite in our own garden today.
Top notes: pineapple, rhubarb, grapefruit, elemi
Middle notes: Goldband Lily of Japan
Base notes: patchouli, oakmoss, labdanum, sandalwood, musk, vanilla
